Rachel Damon (she/her) is a choreographer, designer, manager, and performer. She is a Co-Director of Synapse Arts, a dance-theater company founded in 2004; Synapse is an Arts Partner in Residence with the Chicago Park District, a Vendor with Chicago Public Schools, and an ArtsTour Roster Artist. Damon has been honored to be a Chicago Dancemakers Forum Lab Artist, a MetLife New Stages for Dance recipient, a Chicago Saints awardee, and winner of the Albert P. Weisman Award in Choreography.

She has developed her performance works through residencies with South House England, The Ragdale Foundation, The Morrison-Shearer Foundation, and The Chicago Cultural Center; her pieces have been presented at The Dance Center of Columbia College, The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, The Detroit Institute of Art, Ingenuity Cleveland, TEK BOX Minneapolis, the DCASE Storefront Theater, The Roy Hart International Arts Centre, and InShadow Lisbon, among many others.

Featured in Dance Spirit Magazine for her career that appears both backstage and onstage, Damon has designed lighting at venues such as The Goodman Theater, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Centro Cultura de Espana Mexico City, and has worked as the Production Stage Manager for the Grammy-award winning Eighth Blackbird, Dance Chicago, Links Hall, Lucky Plush Productions, and many independent dance artists. She is currently a Stage Manager at Blue Man Group/Cirque du Soleil. A 2005 graduate of Columbia College Chicago, Damon loves to knit while watching action movies, and she eats dessert every day.
