Nico Rubio is a Chicago-native tap dancer, choreographer and dance instructor, recognized as one of the leading tap dancers of his generation. For over a decade, Nico has worked professionally as an entertainer and educator throughout the US and internationally. In an effort to simultaneously build community and craft his own contributions, Nico has founded his own tap company, 333 (Three Thirty Three). He is a Regional Dance Development Initiative (RDDI) Chicago 2016 Dance Lab participant and currently an artist-in-residence with 333 at the American Rhythm Center.

"This is an opportunity to continue where I left off in 2011 with In Walked Midnight, a piece that I was able to not just choreograph in terms of dance, but first arrange in terms of music."

—Nico Rubio

During the 2018 Lab Artists program, Nico will be working on Of Dreams to Come. This piece will be developed through collaboration with a set group of tap dancers and musicians in order to create original music, arrangements and choreography, highlighting the connection between both art forms.
