Kristina Isabelle: dance artist, choreographer, creative mentor, historic dance reconstructor and educator. Is the artistic director of Kristina Isabelle Dance for 12 years producing multi-media evening length works, many featuring her signature stilt dances as well as site specific environmental dance-scapes. KIDCO tours nationally and internationally and was the first American company to perform her work, Levels & Lines at the stilt street theater festival in Deventer in 2015. Isabelle’s work ranges from the proscenium stage, nightclubs to site specific large scale installations. Her Land Mass series engages with and animates natural environments with dancing bodies. She spent three years researching and reconstructing the work of modern dance master Sybil Shearer and developed an evening length work entitled And The Spirit Moved Me. She has an MFA in dance / choreography from The Ohio State University and a BFA from The Juilliard School. She danced with Bebe Miller, Stephen Petronio, Jordan Fuchs, Walkabout Theater, Bob Eisen, Earth Circus and visual artist Claudia Hart. She mentors artists at Links Hall through the Art of Rehearsal program. She co-founded Michigan City Moves, an artist collective dedicated to promoting and sharing experimental music, dance and film in NW Indiana through performances, classes and interactive workshops. MCM premiered Sand: A Migrating Performance in 4 Parts along the Indiana Dunes lakeshore in 2019. This work features site specific performances, a gallery showing at Lubeznik Art Center and an interactive dance film projected on a barn at Tryon Farm. She is currently developing a performance series and artist residency program with the Tryon Farm Institute in Michigan City Indiana.
