Justin Cabrillos is a choreographer, artist, and writer based in Brooklyn. Cabrillos received his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He was a summer fellow at Ox-Bow School of Art, an IN>TIME Incubation Series artist-in-residence at the Chicago Cultural Center, and a 2011 LinkUP Artist at Links Hall in Chicago. He is the recipient of a Greenhouse grant from the Chicago Dancemaker's Forum.

For his Greenhouse Project, Justin Cabrillos explored the intersections between language and the body, researching and developing material for a new work entitled, Troupe, a solo movement piece, with voice and text, which draws from children's games, disciplinary techniques, and the life of P.T. Barnum.  Justin's Greenhouse mentor was Lin Hixson, artistic director of Every House Has a Door and former director of Goat Island Performance Group.

Cabrillos has shown work at the Cultural Center of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, AUNTS, and the Movement Research Spring Festival. He has previously performed with Every house has a door and Marissa Perel, and currently with Jen Rosenblit.
