Elevate Chicago Dance is a citywide festival with public performances and studio showings at nine creative spaces around the city, featuring close to forty Chicago choreographers and dance companies.

The festival's second day begins with four diverse Chicago dancemakers showing short pieces and discussing their creative directions: Joanna Furnans, Ginger Krebs, Synapse Arts (in residence at Loyola Park), and more.

Reservations are free.

Advanced reservations are encouraged, but not required.  If there are more patrons than available seats, we will give preference to those who have made advanced reservations.

Joanna Furnans
is an independent dance artist who expresses through her works a genuine experience of self and questions the status quo in dance, queer, post-feminist, and contemporary American cultures.

Ginger Krebs
performs and directs movement-based performance projects, curates, and makes visual objects. Her works probe the problem of being embodied and wonder at human adaptability as our means of redemption.

Rachel Damon/Synapse Arts
tackles themes of identity and self-determination in their dance-theater works and community classes, moving towards a world where diverse people are free to develop their unique talents and express their singular visions using their minds and whole bodies.
