Heather Hartley is moving into the newly created position of Executive Director at Audience Architects, a dance service organization here in Chicago. Heather will continue to serve as CDF Director until December 20, while assuming some of her duties at Audience Architects on a part time basis. Heather will begin full time at Audience Architects on January 2, 2012. She looks forward to continuing to serve the dance community in her new capacity. CDF thanks Heather for her three years of service and CDF wishes her well in her future endeavors! CDF is thrilled to announce that Suzy Grant has been hired as Program Manager on a an interim basis and that she will begin at CDF on December 1. Suzy is a dance administrator, producer, and performer. She has a strong knowledge of the dance community, providing varying administrative and production support to numerous choreographers, companies, and arts organizations, including work with Mordine & Company Dance Theater, Khecari, and The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago. Suzy is co-producer of The Open Space Project, a showcase of emerging choreographers. As a dancer, Suzy has worked with many local choreographers and her solo works have been performed in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, and throughout Chicago. Suzy holds a BA in dance from The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago.
Suzy will steward core CDF programs, including the Salon series and the launch of the 2012 Lab Artist program though May 2012 while the CDF consortium undergoes its strategic planning process, with support of the MacArthur Foundation, to identify the best future steps for CDF. 2012 Lab Artist Consortium Member CDF also announces that Margi Cole has joined the CDF Consortium in an annual rotating position filled by a former Lab Artist. CDF welcomes Margi's wisdom, keen knowledge of the field, and creative mind to the CDF leadership for 2012. Margi will replace Peter Carpenter, who served the consortium brilliantly and made many contributions to CDF programs, including being a key developer of our Greenhouse program.
