Ginger Krebs
greenhouse artist, 2011

artist biography
Ginger Krebs is a Chicago-based artist and has presented work recently at Links Hall, Epiphany Episcopal Church, The Cultural Center, The Hyde Park Art Center and the Rymer Gallery. Her residency at Links Hall during 2009-10 culminated with her ensemble's performance of Rehearsals for Becoming Gods in March. Krebs will be in residence at the Chicago Cultural Center in fall 2010. She is adjunct assistant professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she teaches performance and time arts.

during the CDF year

Ginger is a performer and director whose work probes the problem of being embodied and wonders at the body as our means of redemption.  With the support of the Greenhouse program, Ginger expanded a work currently in-progress, Myth and Continent, into a fully realized, evening-length performance.  Myth and Continent considers how the proliferation of the virtual may affect our relationships to our bodies and to our physical surroundings.

Krebs was mentored during the Greenhouse project by choreographer and technology innovator, Timothy Buckley.
